1. Identification and scope
This Cookie Policy explains how Concept D6, Unipessoal Lda., trading under the D6 4×4 brand, uses cookies and similar technologies on www.d6-4×4.com, the purposes for which they are used, and how users can manage their preferences.
Controller: Concept D6, Unipessoal Lda. | Tax / Company No. 513 900 535 | Zona Industrial de Rio Meão, Rua 8, no. 310, 4520-475 Rio Meão, Portugal | geral@d6-4×4.com | (+351) 256 025 119.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files or identifiers stored on, or read from, a user’s device when visiting a website. They can enable technical website functions, maintain a shopping cart or session, remember preferences and, where consent has been provided, measure website use or support marketing activities.
Cookies may be session cookies, deleted when the browser is closed, or persistent cookies, which remain for a defined period. They may also be first-party cookies set by D6 4×4 or third-party cookies set by external services integrated into the website.
3. Legal basis and consent rule
Under Portuguese Law no. 41/2004 of 18 August, storing information on, or accessing information stored on, a user’s terminal equipment generally requires prior consent based on clear and complete information.
Consent is not required for cookies or similar technologies that are strictly necessary to transmit a communication or to provide an information society service expressly requested by the user, such as essential cart, checkout, session, security or cookie-preference functions.
Where cookies or similar technologies involve the processing of personal data, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the applicable Portuguese data-protection legislation also apply.
Consent for optional cookies must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. It may be refused or withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
4. Categories of cookies
4.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the technical operation of the website and online store. They may be used to maintain the cart, session, checkout, account functionality, security, fraud prevention and to remember the user’s cookie choice.
They are not used for behavioural advertising and, where they are genuinely strictly necessary for the requested service, do not require prior consent.
4.2 Functional cookies
These may enable additional non-essential functionality, such as remembering certain preferences. Where they are not strictly necessary for a service requested by the user, they will only be activated after the relevant consent has been provided.
4.3 Analytics cookies
These cookies are used to measure and understand website use, such as pages visited, sessions and general interactions. Analytics cookies will only be stored after the user has consented to this category.
4.4 Marketing cookies
These cookies may be used to measure campaigns, advertising, conversions or audiences where such tools are active on the website. Marketing cookies and similar technologies will only be activated after prior consent.
5. Strictly necessary WooCommerce cookies
D6 4×4 uses WooCommerce to operate the online store. Depending on the user’s interaction with the store, WooCommerce may use the following technical cookies:
Additional WordPress, WooCommerce, security, authentication or payment-provider cookies may be used where they are necessary for a specific function requested by the user. The effective and current list should be displayed in the cookie preference centre whenever additional cookies are in use.
6. Consent preference cookie
The choice made in the cookie banner or preference centre is stored so that the website can respect the user’s decision and does not ask for the same choice on every page load. The name and duration of the cookie used to store this preference depend on the consent-management tool configured on the website and should be included in the cookie list displayed in the preference centre.
7. Google Analytics, if active
If D6 4×4 uses Google Analytics, its analytics cookies will only be stored after the user has consented to the analytics category.
If Google Analytics is not active on the website, these cookies will not be used. The policy and cookie table must be updated whenever the technical configuration of the service changes.
8. Marketing and advertising tools
If tools such as Meta Pixel, Google Ads or other marketing technologies are implemented, they will only be activated after consent for the relevant category, unless a specific function is legally classified as strictly necessary.
Before any marketing tool is activated in production, D6 4×4 must update this Policy and the preference centre to clearly identify the cookies or technologies used, their provider, purpose and duration.
9. Payments and checkout
When the user selects a payment method, the relevant payment provider may use cookies or technologies that are strictly necessary to process the payment, authenticate the transaction, prevent fraud or ensure security.
Where a provider uses cookies for additional purposes that are not necessary for the requested payment operation, those cookies are subject to the applicable consent requirements.
Third-party payment services may operate under their own privacy and cookie policies, which should be made available to the user where applicable.
10. Information processed through cookies
Depending on the cookie or technology used, online identifiers, session identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, date and time, pages visited, website interactions and technical information relating to the cart, session or checkout may be processed.
Where such information constitutes personal data, the processing is also governed by the D6 4×4 Privacy Policy.
11. Banner and consent management
On the first visit, and whenever legally required, the website should provide a mechanism enabling users to:
accept optional cookies;
reject optional cookies while continuing with strictly necessary cookies;
manage preferences by category;
change or withdraw consent later.
Optional choices must not be pre-selected. Analytics, marketing and other non-essential cookies must not be stored before the relevant consent has been provided.
Withdrawing consent must be as easy as giving it. A permanent ‘Cookie Settings’ or equivalent option should therefore remain accessible through the website, including from the footer.
Rejecting optional cookies should not prevent access to essential store functionality that does not legitimately depend on those cookies.
12. Evidence and record of consent
Where processing is based on consent, D6 4×4 must be able to demonstrate that consent was given and which preferences were selected. The consent-management tool may therefore keep a technical record of the choice for as long as necessary to comply with this obligation and manage preferences.
13. Browser controls
Users may also block or delete cookies through their browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent functions such as the cart, login, session or checkout from operating correctly.
14. Third parties, transfers and Privacy Policy
Some third-party services may process personal data independently or on behalf of D6 4×4. Where this occurs, information about controllers, recipients, any international transfers, lawful bases and data-subject rights should be provided in the Privacy Policy and, where applicable, in the cookie preference information.
15. Updates and actual cookie inventory
This Policy must match the cookies and technologies actually used on the website. Whenever plugins, analytics, marketing, security, payment or other integrations are installed, removed or changed, D6 4×4 should review the cookie inventory and update this Policy and the preference centre before activating new non-essential technologies.
The date of the latest update is shown at the beginning of this document.
16. Applicable law and language
This Policy is interpreted in accordance with applicable Portuguese and European law, including Portuguese Law no. 41/2004, the GDPR and applicable national data-protection legislation.
For users accessing the Portuguese market, Portuguese-language legal information should also be made available where required by applicable law.
